Please see below confirmed start wave times for 2026 Dragon Ride. Knowing your start wave in advance will assist with your pre-ride preparations and ensure a smooth start to your day. Please arrive 60 minutes before your published start time. It will take up to 15 minutes to walk from the car park to event village.

If multiple participants share your name, use the last three digits of your Registration ID to confirm your entry. Your Booking Reference can be found in your confirmation email.
Each route will begin and end at our event village in the beautiful Margam Park near Port Talbot and head into, in our opinion, the best riding in the UK. All information on the confirmed 2026 routes and distances can be found here.
GPX files for each route can be found in any participant email sent from 30/04 onwards.
For the welfare and safety of all our riders and crew, some of our rides include cut-off points. This means that you must arrive at a certain point of the course before an allotted time. Please note these times include the minimum average speed that each distance needs to maintain to achieve the cut-offs. The times are inclusive of any stopping time.
DRAGON DEVIL
Cut off 1: Route split with Gran Fondovbefore A40/ Trecastle(136km/85m) by 13:45hrs
Cut off 2: Feed station 4, Llandovery College, (154km/95m) by 14:40hrs*
*Riders need to exit the feed station by 14:40hrs* as cut off speeds include stops.
These times are based on riders cycling at an average speed of 20km/hr or 12.5m/hr from the last possible start time
GRAN FONDO
Cut Off: Gran Fondo split with Medio, (112km/70m) by 14:05hrs
This is based on riders cycling at a speed of 18.4km/hr or 11.5m/hr from the last possible start time
MEDIO FONDO
Cut Off 1: Medio split with Cymru Classic (54km/34m) by 12:30hrs
Cut Off 2: Medio split with Cymru Classic (106km/66m) by 15:55hrs
This is based on riders cycling at a speed of 15km/hr or 9.4m/hr from the last possible start time
Cymru Classic
Although there are no cut off points on the route, we recommend that you aim to finish before 19:30hrs.
Please note, for all distances the finish line gantry closes at 21:45hrs
Failure to maintain the minimum speeds will result in your ride being shortened at a designated cut off points or terminated early at the discretion of the event organisers. Route cut offs are in place for the safety and welfare of all the riders and support teams out on the route.
If you refuse to take the cut off and/or you fall behind time and refuse to drop out but carry on riding then you do so with full knowledge and understanding that you will be riding outside the responsibility of the event - meaning you will no longer have route support (signage, medical, stewards, motorcycle marshals, feed stations etc).
In addition to any planned cut offs please note that we also reserve the right to alter or cancel the event, or to terminate participation on health and safety grounds. This includes, but is not limited to, the re-direction of or closure of sections of the route at any time for reasons at our sole discretion (severe weather, accident, incident etc).
Packs will be posted out 3 weeks before the event and will continue to arrive up until the Friday before the event.
Please note: The 3/4-digit number printed on your delivery envelope is an internal tracking ID and is separate from your official event/bib number. Please ignore this internal number on event day.
Rider pack contents
Large Event Number
This must be attached to your back, on the outside of your clothing (safety pins are not included). This must be visible at all times during the ride and is your passport to the Feed Stations and sweep vehicle where required.
Coloured Card
This is for us to identify who is riding which distance so the colour you have received will match your chosen distance. Please attach this to the front of your bike with the cable ties provided – two cable ties around the top and one around the bottom to go round your bike stem or wires.
Helmet & Bike Stickers
These stickers, printed with your event number, should be affixed as follows:
- One small one to the FRONT of your helmet (so we can identify you from the front)
- One small sticker for the Coloured Card provided
- The long one around your seat tube pointing backwards (so we can identify you from the side)
- One distance markers sticker to go on your top tube
Timing Chip
Your timing chip is the small silver tag which is stuck onto the long rectangular seat post sticker. This is very important so please ensure the long sticker is securely attached to the seat post of your bike. If it is not attached correctly or damaged in anyway, your results may be affected.
Your rider pack and number are your passport to the day. Please note that for safety reasons, rider packs are not transferable to other people. Anyone caught wearing someone else’s number will be removed from the event.

MOTORCYCLE MARSHALS
There will be a fleet of motorcycle marshals out on the route who are clearly identifiable as being part of the event. They are there to help you, and act as first responders in the event that there is an incident on the route.
MECHANICS
There will be On Your Bike mechanics located at the start venue and at each feed station to assist with any issues you have with your bike. There are no spare bikes available. If you require mechanical parts, you will be charged so please ensure you have cash to pay for this. Mechanics can be contacted on 07593 005 657. Before arriving at the event you must check over or get your bike serviced to ensure it is in good working order. For any punctures that may occur on route, you will need to bring a puncture repair kit with you including 2 inner tubes.
EVENT NUTRITION
Plan your nutrition & hydration in advance of event day, and ensure you have your preferred products with you. There will be some HIGH5 energy gels, energy bars and zero electrolyte along the route to use as supplement to your own provision. More information can be found here. Please note: Absolutely no littering is permitted. Anyone caught dropping litter will be disqualified immediately. We have official moto's out on route enforcing this.
MEDICAL SUPPORT
St. John Ambulance provide medical cover for the event and are located at each feed station and in vehicles around the route. If you need medical attention, please call the emergency medical number 07953 005663.
